I lost a couple pots where my opponents rivered me. I also had to fold JJ pre which was insane given how aggresive I was playing. I guess it felt good when he tabled KK.

So I was down to 10k. Folded to me on the button at 2/400 50a. I open shipped my 25bbs with 55. Sb isoed with the AQ and lost the flip to get back to 20k.

Next is the main event 3700. Not sure if I'm playing tomorrow or Friday.

Got some crasian to go go bezerk with 88 against my AA and held. Up to 34k.

Raised a bad player's limp with 99 went 3 ways. Flop was 789. He check called flop and check raised turn. I didn't even love my hand and knew was never bluffing. But he would do that with lower sets and 2 pair. He did have the J10 and the board did not pair. Down to 0.

raises utg to 750 gets flatted right behind in the 2 hole by another bafoon. One fold, then I look down at two red kings right behind. I make it 2800 playing my 16k stack. TOM (terrible old man) sizes me up and flicks in the 2050 more other bafoon folds. Flop is 556 with 2 hearts. TOM checks I bet 5k. He grunts like a boar. Then he calls. Duece of spades comes on the turn. TOM taps the table. I shove my remaining 8k chips. He grunts repeatedly. Then he calls. Apparently I was trapped with A4hh. Jack of hearts on the river. I said "nice hand". I wished everyone a good life and exited the tournament area.

Now my plan is to do 1000 situps, then hit up Marquee and drink and dance myself silly. I'll come home eventually.

Flopped a set and won a nice hand to get back to 28k. Then lost with AA and KK in reraised pots. Got down to 14k. Then flopped quads with KK and I managed to hold and not run into a straight flush.

Folded to me in sb I have AKss I make it 300 at 50/100. Bb called. I saw him play 2 hands already and I can tell he's bad. He's a fat guy of around 60 wearing a horrible hawaiian shirt.

Flop AA8 with 2 diamonds. I bet out 325. He raises to 1050. I just call. Turn 2d completing a flush. I check. He bets 2k. I call. River another 2. Leaving a final board of AA822. I check. he bets 3k. I call obv and he has A8 for the flopped boat. That's it. I guess I'm happy to only lose 6325 on the hand. It could have been a lot uglier.

I have a bit over 22k. There are no skilled players at my table including at least 3 terrible players. We're going to 1/200 next.

It's now a normal freezout tourney. All the rebuy chips are gone. I have 10k going to 1/200. The worst player at the table has been running hot and has like 15k. Everyone else is shorter than me. I'm trying to play as many pots as possible with the fish.

It's their version of a rebuy tourney. You start with 1500 chips and 2 add on chips worth another 1500 each. You must cash these buyin chips before the end of the 4th level.

I have tough table for a 1500 buyin. There's only 2 weak spots. Everyone else is aggressive and competent.

Everyone at my table has redeemed all their buyin chips.

I'm playing very well and feel happy to have 5400 in chips.

I have a very soft table. I've played a lot of hands and won tons of small pots. I also got all in with AA v QQ and held at 25/25 blinds. A good player would not have gone broke with QQ but he was anything but good.

My blog has risen from the dead. I guess it's now a zombie walking the internet.

I am writing from fabulous Las Vegas. This will be my 6th Wsop. I've decided to not play a complete schedule this year. I'm registered for the first 7 no limit hold'em events. Then I'm headed to London for 2 weeks. Then I'll be back here to play the Main Event. After last year's brutality, the thought of 6 weeks straight out here did not sound appealing.

I'm starting tomorrow at noon in day 1b of the first 1k event. We only get 3000 chips but I'm not complaining. It makes for the play to be deeper later in the tourney which is more important in my opinion.

I'll be posting updates tomorrow throughout the day.

I didn't update a lot today the breaks were only 10 minutes. It was a pretty swingy day. I peaked my stack at like 35k. I ended up getting 17 bbs in with 88 but ran into 1010 and couldn't bink.

When I got back from break I just ran the table over. I chipped up to over 20k without ever making a hand. I was giving my colleague Keith Crowder absolute fits. Then I found KK and got it in against JJ for a 35k pot. Jack on the turn :( If I would have had 40k at this table I think it would have been a complete massacre. I had utter dominance of the table. But I guess It wasn't meant to be today. I got my last 5600 in with A6hh against Dwyte's 55. This is Dwyte's year so obviously he flopped a boat. gg

Tomorrow is a 560 deepstack at Borgata. I'll be there ready to crush.

I'm back at my "home court" casino. I always feel comfortable at Harrahs AC. I won my first tourney here. I'll be here for aroud 10 days playing all the prelims and the 1650 main. Tomorrow is event #1 with a 350 buyin thats going to attract a ton of players. It's an odd blind structure so if I write 50/75 blinds it will not be a typo. It is only 30 minute levels.

I'm exited to get out there tomorrow. I hope it turns out to be a fun day.

Sorry I didnt give anymore updates to any of the three people that read this. Hi Sahu.

Anyway I played well all day. I loved my table. I got max value from all my hands and I got them to fold when I wanted. I got my stack up to as high as 120k. I lost a huge pot aipf KK < A10 to a complete bafoon. I got down to around 40k after that. Then I lost another 15k when my 1010 < 33 aipf.

I got down to as low as 14k. I ended up finishing the day with a measly 22k with the blinds going to 1500/3000 300a tomorrow. It's only 7bbs but I still have enough to make them fold. The fact that I had so many chips is the reason I'm even still in the tourney at all after those 2 bad beats.

I'll be at it again later today at 11am. I think there's just under 70 left from the starting 205.

Mohegan Sun for the weekend

I'm up here to play the 1650 main event of Mohegan Sun's fall poker series. Right now there are 160 players registered which is about what was expected.

We're starting with 40k chips. (way too much IMO) especially when the blinds are beginning at 25/50. 800 bbs? It's a joke. A lot of these "deep stack" tournaments at least start the blinds at 50/100.

I would like to win this tournament.

I looked around at the goon lineup surrounding me and start licking my chops. I had around 24k to start. I played pretty tight my first level just getting to know their particular goon tendencies.

Here's a couple hands. The only reason I'm even writing any hands is because I'm back at my room at harrahs by myself completely bored out of my face.

2/400 50a I raised A4 in the 2 hole to 1025. A goon with 5k chips called. Another goon with a lot of chips called. Flop A45 (top and bottom pair) I checked cause I know 5k goon was dying to throw his chips in. He did on cue. Other goon folded. I snapped and he had 57, 5 on the turn and 3 on the river. Oh wait I misread his hand he had 67 not 57. When he celebrated after the river hit I figured out he hit his straight and I was only a 4 to 1 favorite with one card to come. Well played sir.

Now I had 18k I made it 1025 utg with A10, super duper goon insta flatted in the 2 hole. We went heads up. Flop 1086 2 clubs. I bet 1650 he made it 5k. I shipped all's in. He shrugged his shoulders and said "I call". He had 107 (7 outs). 9 on the river. He did his own hooting and hollering celebration dance. Then went to shake my hand. Bahahahahahaha. I did everything in my power to not spit in his face. I figured his goonface was not worthy of my saliva.

I then decided to walk back to my room at harrahs to get some fresh air. There was plenty of air. But by no means was any of it fresh at all. It smelled like some sort of dinosaur fart that was fossilized in the earth and was released billions of years later. Roar. It may have been one of the most depressing walks I've ever taken in my life. I'm not sure if the picture below captures how dreary the scenery was, but here it is. The beautiful, extravagant Borgata from a distance.

I should have went to New Orleans. Meh.

Right now he's letting me get away with a lot. I guess he figures there's no reason to come after me when everyone else at the table is giving chips away.

I'm happy with my play today. I never played any big pots all day. I never made any big hands. I never made a hand better than 2 pair. I saw AK once and missed. I saw JJ once and took down the blinds. That's it. No sets. No flushes. No straights. I worked my ass off just to finish with what I did.

Day 2 will be starting Friday at noon. 178 players are left of the starting 238. However registration is still open during the first level of day 2.
